To Be Released: End of 2015

I get really excited for new music that will be released, and I feel like lately there has been a lot of new singles being released, which means that new albums are coming soon which means new tours and I fucking love concerts. This edition of To Be Released is going to cover all the new albums that are set to be released from now to the end of 2015, and then two that could be released next year, but I'm really excited for them because I love the singles!

Note: These are in the order of the first release date to the end!

To Be Released: End of 2015

1. Bon Jovi: Burning Bridges; August 21. I'm so excited for the album. They have released 5 songs off of it as of now and they are all awesome. We Don't Run is a great song and it is different to the songs that I fell in love with, but I fell in love with this one too. I actually think that We Don't Run is close to Livin' On A Prayer, and you all know how I feel about that song.

2. Halsey: Badlands; August 28. I don't think I can accurately convey my feelings and excitement for this album. If this album is even half as good as her singles, it's going to be so fucking awesome. Hold Me Down and New Americana are my jams (as we know from my last blog posts). August 28 cannot come fast enough!

3. The Weeknd: Beauty Behind the Madness; August 28. This album is going to be awesome too, because The Hills and Can't Feel My Face are so good. August 28 is going to be crazy, because The Weeknd and Halsey on the same day? Yes, please!

4. Lana Del Rey: Honeymoon; September 2015. There is no set release date yet, just that it will be released in September. Lana is awesome and her songs are so good. She just released (like 4 days ago), her new single High By The Beach, which is amazing and I cannot wait for the album.

5. Selena Gomez: Revival; October 9. Good For You (the single) is a pretty good song. It's not my favorite type of music, but that doesn't mean that I'm not excited for this album. I think it will be exciting to see what she does next because she's always surprised me with her next steps.

6. Mayday Parade: Black Lines; October 9. Now, Mayday Parade is going to overshadow Selena, just because they are released on the same day and I'm going to be freaking the fuck out about this album. Sorry bout it.

7. 5 Seconds of Summer: Sounds Good, Feels God; October 23. HOLY SHIT. You don't even know how excited I am for this album. She's Kinda Hot is so good and so is Fly Away and I just don't know if I'm going to be able to function when this comes out. I just don't think I'll make it through.

8. Little Mix: Get Weird; November 6. I'm super pumped for the album too because Black Magic rocks. Little Mix is a girl group through and through and they use their power for good. I think it's a good song and I cannot wait to see what else they do.

9. Justin Bieber: TBA; November 13. Justin Bieber's music is something I listen to everyday, but every album he has released has always had a couple of great songs on it, and I'm sure that it will be the same here. This album has no name currently, but it is scheduled to be released on November 13.

10. Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams; 2015. I fucking love Coldplay. I mean, who doesn't? I don't think any singles have been released yet, but the album has a name and is scheduled to be released in 2015. All I hope is that it's sooner rather than later.

11. Demi Lovato: TBA; 2015. Cool For the Summer is a great song, and Demi is a great artist. I have no doubt that she will release an album that blows everyone's fucking minds. I think it would be impossible for her to not do that.

12. One Direction: TBA; TBA. Literally don't know anything about this album, but it's coming. I know that. Drag Me Down is such a great song, and I'm excited to see what One Direction without Zayn can do to an album, because they took this song and made it their bitch.

13. Panic! At The Disco: TBA; TBA. Literally don't know anything about this album either, besides the fact that it's coming. Hallelujah is an awesome song and I know that the album will be just as good, and probably better, than it.

Song Spotlight: Welcome To The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance

Another Song Spotlight, I know, but this song is so good and since it was in my last blog post (which is all about my current favorite songs!), I figured I could talk about it more here. Let's go!

Welcome To The Black Parade

When I was a young boy,
My father took me into the city
To see a marching band.

He said, "Son when you grow up,
Would be the savior of the broken,
The beaten and the damned?"
He said "Will you defeat them,
You demons, and all the non-believers,
The plans that they have made?"
"Because one day I'll leave you,
A phantom to lead you in the summer,
To join the Black Parade."

When I was a young boy,
My father took me into the city
To see a marching band.
He said, "Son when you grow up,
Would be the savior of the broken,
The beaten and the damned?"

Sometimes I get the feeling she's watching over me
And other times I feel like I should go
And through it all, the rise and fall, the bodies in the streets
And when you're gone we want you all to know

We'll carry on,
We'll carry on
And though you're dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on
And in my heart I can't contain it
The anthem won't explain it

A world that sends you reeling from decimated dreams
Your misery and hate will kill us all
So paint it black and take it back
Let's shout it loud and clear
Defiant to the end we hear the call

To carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're dead and gone blieve me
Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're broken and defeated Your weary widow marches

On and on we carry through the fears
Oh oh ohhhh
Disappointed faces of your peers
Oh oh ohhhh
Take a look at me cause I could not care at all

Do or die, you'll never make me
Because the world will never take my heart
Go adn try, you'll neve rbreak me
We want it all, we wanna play this part
I won't explain or say I'm sorry
I'm unashamed, I'm gonna show my scar
Give a cheer for all the broken
Listen here, because it's who we are
I'm just a man, I'm not a hero
Just a boy, who had to sing this song
I'm just a man I'm not a hero
I
Don't
Care

We'll carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're dead and gone blieve me
Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're broken and degeated
You weary widow marches on

Do or die, you'll never make me
Because the world will never take my heart
Go and try you'll never break me
We want it all, we wanna play this part (We'll carry on)

Do or die, you'll never make me (We'll carry on)

Because the world will never take my heart (We'll carry on)
Go and try, you'll never break me
We want it all, we wanna play this part
(We'll carry on!)

Why?

This song is awesome. It's catchy and it's fun to sing along to and the beginning is something that I will always know the words too. Whenever I hear this song I literally tear up. It's so pretty and meaningful and it's a lot for me. This song came on the radio the other day and I literally cried in the car.
The message of this song is probably the best part. It's just a fuck you to the world and a push for everyone to do whatever the fuck they want, which as we all can tell is like my favorite thing in the world. It's just telling people all over the place to stand up and destroy their demons and not to be ashamed of their past and who they are because they are over. It's a great message.
My Chemical Romance is great and they are a great band, who remind me a lot of my friend Audrey, who this song also reminds me of. Audrey is another reason why I love this song. She's overcome a lot, just like I have, and it's fucking awesome.

My Current Favorite Songs!

So I talk about my monthly favorites, which includes songs, but I never really talk about just songs that I'm loving right now/always love. So, that's what I'm doing today! My current favorite songs! All of these songs can be found in my August // 15 playlist, that I will link here. Enjoy!

My Current Favorite Songs

1. Always Dirty, Never Clean: Anarbor
My friend Lucy introduced me to this song and I fucking love it. It's got such a great beat and it makes me rock the fuck out in my bedroom or in the car. And it's so much fun to sing along to. Like so much fun.

2. New Americana: Halsey
I LOVE THIS SONG. And I love Halsey (she's the only artist that made this list twice). I cannot wait for her album because if it's even half as good as this song it will blow almost everything out of the fucking water. This song is so good and it's a different type of music than my go-to music, which makes this song so much better because I love expanding my horizons.

3. Drag Me Down: One Direction
Anytime One Direction releases new music I am so there for it, but this song is awesome. It's great lyrics and the beat is amazing. And when it drops though. This song is so much fun to scream along to in the car with the windows down. Plus, it proves One Direction is still One Direction without Zayn.

4. She's Kinda Hot: 5 Seconds of Summer
Still love this song. Will probably always love this song. If you want to know more or listen to me talk about this song more; click here.

5. Give Me Novacaine/She's A Rebel: Green Day
Billie Joe is like my favorite person that has ever lived. Ever. So that automatically makes Green Day basically one of the best bands ever. And this song is awesome. It's a great mashup, but She's A Rebel is my favorite and it is literally my theme song. If I was a TV show, this song would be playing at the opening credits.

6. Vanilla: The Maine
This song is really good. It has a cool message and it makes me really happy. Plus, it's The Maine and The Maine is like everything so it's already a good song. This is on the deluxe version of Forever Halloween (which is a fucking fantastic record), and I never really listened to the deluxe tracks until a couple of months ago and this song stood out and I've recently have become obsessed again.

7. What's My Age Again?: Blink-182
All Time Low sang this song (and a bunch of others) to open the APMAs and it was awesome and reminded me of how much I loved this song and how great it was. It made my August playlist and I love jamming to it.

8. Welcome To The Black Parade: My Chemical Romance
Always gotta love My Chemical Romance. I was in the car one day and this song came on the radio and I literally cried and immediately put it on my playlist and I have been listening non-stop. This song is awesome and wonderful and raw and great and I just love it.

9. Sparks Fly: Hey Violet
I say Hey Violet open for 5sos at the concert and I fell in love with the song. It's really really good and so is Hey Violet, even though I think they take a lot of shit. This song is for sure always going to be a favorite. It's that good.

10. Hold Me Down: Halsey
I'm obsessed with Halsey, as we all can tell, and this song is amazing. It's really good, really catchy and makes me dance and sing all the time. If you are going to check out one song on this list, check out this one (or She's Kinda Hot because fav).

Songs For the Late Night Talker // Mixtape #3

This mixtape is about one of my best friends, Audrey. She's kind of amazing and I love her a lot. She came home from camp yesterday and I'm so excited because I haven't seen her in a long time. Audrey is a big reason why I love the music that I love and she constantly introduces me to new music that I fall in love with. Honestly, she made me fall in love with Sublime and Fall Out Boy, and our common love of All Time Low can keep us talking for hours on end. The Maine and Audrey became best friends thanks to me, and we revel in the beauty of Green Day together. Our first Warped Tour experience was together (where we met Bowling For Soup!!!). We partied hard at the Future Hearts Tour, and blast The Arctic Monkeys at 4am. We both love music and we both love who we are and who the other is. Our friendship is kind of one that you find in novels. Not to brag or anything, but it is. It was constructed on a firm foundation of being who we are, built out of love for music and passion for life, stuck together with the glue never running out of things to talk about, and colored with the laughs and adrenaline we share together. I love Audrey a lot and she makes me so fucking happy. She knows who she is and I know who I am and we can be ourselves together and talk about the future and the past and the present and the what ifs and the should have done's and everything in between and that's fucking amazing because you can't always do that with people. These songs are for her.

Songs For Audrey

1. Santeria: Sublime
This song is the first Sublime song that Audrey made me listen to, and I've loved it every since. It's a great song by a great band and it's even better when it's shared with great friends. Plus, this song is just fun to sing along too.

2. The Only Exception: Paramore
This song is about true love, and I believe that true love comes more than once to us in life. Not only more than once romantically, but true love can be between anybody. It's between family and friends and spouses and animals and sometimes music and movies and things. And I think what Aud and I share is true love. I honestly believe that we are best friends and that we are meant to be best friends forever. There's no way a relationship like ours can never not be strong and wonderful and great. This song is just about finding someone who is worth all the risk and the pain, and, to me, Audrey is worth that. Everyday; all the time. She will always be worth that.

3. Teenagers: My Chemical Romance
Teen angst is like my favorite thing in the world. (I mean, duh, why wouldn't it be?) This song is great and it makes me so happy and it's so Audrey and Laura. My Chemical Romance is Audrey's band, so of course this song needs to be on this playlist.

4. Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?: Arctic Monkeys
The countless nights that Audrey and I have spent listening to this song (and the whole album) are some of the best nights of my life. This song and the rest of the album are basically the soundtrack to Audrey and I's time spent together, and I'm not complaining. I love this song and so does Audrey. Plus, I've called Audrey a couple of times and she's called me.

5. Grand Theft Autumn/Where Is Your Boy: Fall Out Boy
Fall Out Boy is great and Audrey made me love them, so they needed to be on this playlist. They are great and this is one of my favorite songs of theirs and Audrey and I have sung it together countless times.

6. Social Casualty: 5 Seconds of Summer
Teen angst + 5sos + great lyrics + rebelling against authority = love. Seriously though. I love this song as so does Audrey and its great and awesome and really empowering. Plus, 5sos is one of the bands that I introduced Audrey too.

7. We'll All Be...: The Maine
We saw The Maine for the first time in concert together and I was the one who introduced her to them. Which is different and new because usually she introduces me to music. Anyway, this song is all about being young and living it up and how everybody will be degraded but everybody will always be the greatest and I just love this song and it reminds me of Audrey because she's always telling everyone to live it up.

8. Scar Tissue: Red Hot Chili Peppers
I picked this song not for the lyrics (although they are great lyrics, they don't really apply to Audrey's and I relationship), but for the song. It's by a great band and it's a catchy song that we always sing along to and it's on both of our feel better playlists, so it should be on this.

9. Warrior: Demi Lovato
This song reminds me of Audrey. She's been through a lot of tough and nasty shit, but she came out on top and she's a fucking warrior. She is honestly the strongest person I know and this song talks all about strong people. She is a survivor in so many ways and she is a fucking warrior.

10. Old Scars/Future Hearts: All Time Low
All Time Low is probably talked about at least twice in every conversation Audrey and I have. They are our favorite band. I like this song because it talks about how old scars are always going to be there but they don't affect our future hearts. They can coexist and that's always a good message. Audrey and I both have a lot of old scars, but it's good to know that they won't affect all the good that is coming for us.

Aud, you are so fucking amazing and you inspire me to be who I am everyday. You don't put up with people's shit and you stand up for what you believe in. Keep being you because you are fucking great. Happy you're home.

-Laur

"We may not be gettin' younger / Our days might be slippin' away / Yeah, we're still so fucking young, so we'll party like it's our last day." -We'll All Be, The Maine

Concert Reviews!

I'm sorry this blog post is so fucking late. Seriously, I don't know what happen the last couple days that I was so busy, but I was and this blog post didn't happen. But it is now! (even though it's two days late...) Anyway, this blog post is a review of the two concerts that I went to last week. I went to One Direction on July 26 and 5 Seconds of Summer on July 31.

One Direction

One Direction is amazing in concert. That's not new news. They are very talented and I had the time of my life. Almost my entire school went to the concert, so it was fun to walk around the stadium and always see someone I knew. I went with my friend Sam and we danced the whole time and it was great. I really liked Don't Forget Where You Belong live and I loved No Control and Alive. And, obvisouly, Act My Age was fucking awesome and that Irish Jig though. Personally, I wouldn't have ended the concert with Best Song Ever, but they still blew it out of the fucking park. Plus, the venue was great because it was outside and the fireworks were cool and everything was awesome and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat (even the two hour wait to get out of the parking ramp).

5SOS

I was lucky enough to go to soundcheck for the 5sos concert. We were literally the last ones to get there (my cousin Emma and my friends Lucy and Isabella), but we were in the first line that they took into the stadium so we were in the third row. They played Long Way Home for souncheck and then answered a bunch of questions and it was just super surreal and awesome. The boys were so fun and their personalities were exactly like you would think they are from their interviews and music videos and shit. They talked about their dreams and Calum and Ashton kept saying that they were together because they were the rhythm section (which has now become a thing with them) and some how (not really show when or how), Ashton or Calum were talking about Luke and Michael kissing in a dream and it was just awesome. They also played She's Kinda Hot for soundcheck even though they usually only play one song, but they wanted to play it for us, because they were so excited about the song and loved it so much and wanted us to love it too. They also asked if they should call the crowd St. Paul or Minneapolis, and we said Twin Cities, so during the show they called us that.
The show was awesome. It was so fun and loud and exciting. Emma and I were sitting on the floor together and we danced and sang our hearts out. It was honestly one of the best nights of my life. It made me incredibly happy and it was so much fucking fun. Also, I got to actually see/hear Disconnected live which, as you know, is my favorite fucking song off LiveSOS. Plus, She's Kinda Hot is fucking amazing live you have no idea.
You could tell that the really wanted to be there and they were having a great time, so we were having a great time and it was just so awesome. (Even though Emma lost her ticket and we almost didn't get on the floor, lol.)
